As you can see, we've transitioned from our newsletter format to a blog - Fireflies!
We hope you will enjoy reading our posts as we share from our teacher & mom-hearts.
Each month we will share thoughts and ideas in the following areas:
Moments - A California mom of four shares from her heart, linking God's truth to the everyday adventures of becoming a Godly mom.
Reflections - An overview of our theme for the month through the reflections from a wife, mother, grandmother (aka "Button") and master early childhood teacher of 35 years.
CLIP Book Reviews - Each month we will highlight one CLIP* Book by reviewing that book and including family oriented extension activities to experience after reading the book. Every Friday a support book will also be reviewed.
Communication - We [School of Communications - our consulting company) believe that students must be given an opportunity to communicate effective messages in three main areas: print, verbal, & visual. Activities that encourage these three communication areas and support the CLIP theme of the month, will be provided each month. [poems - songs - art activities etc.]
Cultural Binge - A favorite piece of artwork and/or music will be highlighted.
Best Apps - I will share my favorite apps for young children including books and early learning apps.
Recipes - The Fireflies' group believes that cooking with children is one of the easiest ways to reinforce social, emotional and academic skills. We LOVE cooking with children and will share our favorite kitchen adventures for parents and their children.
Growing [Gifts & Talents] - Each month we will look at a specific developmental skill set we believe 4 year old - 8 year old children should be introduced to in their formative years. This month we will look at the why and how of exposing your children to works of art.
Give aways! - SBACS [Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools] is providing terrific prizes for participating Fireflies followers. Look for the SBACS logo at the end of a print, verbal, or visual post and respond by commenting to be eligible for the prize.
